Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Account

You must be at least 13 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use Lernio. When you create an account you must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Lernio only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not upload or share content that infringes any intellectual property rights, violates applicable laws, or contains harmful code. You may not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Services, reverse engineer our systems, or use automated tools to access Lernio except through approved APIs.

3. Customer Content

You retain ownership of the documents and materials you upload ("Customer Content"). By using the Services you grant Lernio a limited license to process Customer Content for the purpose of delivering the Services (e.g., generating notes, flashcards, tutor responses). You are responsible for ensuring that Customer Content and your use of Lernio comply with applicable laws and institutional policies.

4. Intellectual Property

Lernio owns all rights, title, and interest in the Services, including software, design, and trademarks. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Services without prior written consent. We provide you with a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Lernio as long as you comply with these Terms.

5. Subscription & Billing

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscription fees are charged in advance for each billing cycle and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from Billing; cancellations take effect at the end of the current cycle. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Trials require a valid payment method. If you do not cancel before your trial expires, your subscription will convert to a paid plan and the applicable fee will be charged automatically.

6. Service Availability and Updates

We strive to keep Lernio available and functioning smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features at any time. From time to time we will push updates or maintenance that may temporarily affect availability.

7. Disclaimers

Lernio provides AI-assisted study aids, but the outputs should be reviewed for accuracy and suitability for your needs. The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Lernio is not liable for losses resulting from reliance on the Services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lernio, its affiliates, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts paid by you to Lernio in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you violate these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Services at any time; upon termination, your right to access the Services ceases immediately. Certain obligations (including payment for unpaid fees) will survive termination.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lernio Labs is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by consumer protection laws.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted with an updated effective date. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
